Jodhpur-Jaisalmer NY Trip - DAY 1

Hiya readers, I am back with yet another impeccable and interesting blog on DAY 1 of our NEW YEAR trip.

We woke up quite early in the morning to see nothing outside of window. It was as if we were living in a cloud. We were so nervous about the flight departure, but we carried on with the routine. As we reached the airport, after numerous cab request denials, we were relieved to know that the flight hadn't been delayed.

We finally breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed for the first time since dawn as we whizzed past the security check. After we had our breakfast, we were on our way to the jam-packed boarding gates. The irony, it was gate number -- 13! As if it were destined to be, our flight was delayed by half an hour. We waited at our laboriously claimed seats, hoping for the flight to be no further delayed. Fortune was on our side that day, and the flight departed at the estimated time and landed in Jodhpur airport without any snag. As soon as we touched down, the polluted environment was palpable. Taking no heed of it, and in great spirits, we vibed to the music on our way to the resort, Pal Haveli.

Upon reaching, we were greeted by a man who, we found, was the manager. He was humble and polite, and explained to us the history of the palace while leading us to our rooms. Exhilarated but exhausted, we checked into our room and planned to have a quick lunch followed by a power nap to get all charged up for the evening. The evening was just to be a simple visit to the clock tower and looking through various traditional stores in the vicinity. My siblings and I, however, played games and chilled out in the afternoon. After we got ready for our visit and after countless photographs, our driver was waiting for us, and we departed from our hotel.

Upon reaching the clock tower, we first had a look at the traditional clothing and art. The clock tower was an old building with obsolete mechanics and a single family managing the clock for generations. It was astonishing to look at the landmark still standing upright and attracting tourists day after day. Including many, who were just interested in capturing as much as they could (By now, you should know who I am pointing to). We also sat mesmerized by a folk singer who was also playing an instrument at the first level. After this, we got hungry, and I found a good place to have our dinner. The place had a beautiful night view of the fort, with live traditional musicians setting the vibe, along with the finger-licking Rajasthani dishes.

At night in our cozy retreat, we played a game reflecting upon the year 2025, and sharing our humorous and new experiences. Overall, this was a wholesome and promising first day, with our member count doubling the next day. We were looking forward to Day 2.
